Turn your Notion docs into R&D tax credit evidence

Claimship reads the specs, design docs, and technical RFCs in your Notion workspace to document the reasoning behind your engineering decisions.

What Claimship reads from Notion

Claimship connects to the Notion pages and databases you choose to share. It reads technical specs, design docs, and RFCs, along with any comments left on them.

It also reads the structure of your workspace: which pages sit under a given project or team, so a spec and its related discussion stay connected to the same piece of work.

Notion often holds the reasoning that doesn't make it into a commit message or an issue, such as why a team picked one architecture over another. Claimship reads that context and ties it back to the engineering work it describes.

The evidence it extracts

Specs document the technical uncertainty upfront

A design doc that lays out open questions and unknowns before work starts is direct evidence for the four-part test.

RFC comments show alternatives that were considered

Comment threads where a team debates two approaches document the process of experimentation, even for approaches that were never built.

Page history captures how a plan changed

A spec that was revised mid-project, because an early plan turned out not to work, shows the trial and error the IRS looks for.

Permissions

Read-only by design

Claimship can read your data. It cannot write, change, or delete anything in your tools. The one exception is the payroll credit push, which you approve first.

You choose the scope

Pick the repos, projects, and channels we can see. Skip anything sensitive. The study only uses what you share.

Revoke anytime

Disconnect a tool in one click from your dashboard or from the tool itself. Syncing stops immediately.

  • Claimship connects to Notion through a read-only integration. It cannot create, edit, or delete pages.
  • You choose which pages and databases to share by adding the Claimship integration to them, page by page.
  • Remove the integration from a page, or disconnect entirely, anytime. Syncing for that content stops right away.

Setup

  1. 1Open the Integrations tab in your Claimship dashboard.
  2. 2Click Connect on Notion and authorize with your Notion account.
  3. 3Share the specific pages or databases you want Claimship to read by adding the Claimship integration to them.
  4. 4Claimship begins reading shared docs within minutes.

Common questions
