Turn your Slack threads into R&D tax credit evidence
Claimship reads the engineering channels and threads you choose to share, capturing the debugging and design debates that don't show up in code.
What Claimship reads from Slack
Claimship connects to the specific Slack channels you choose, not your whole workspace. It reads messages and threads in those channels, focused on engineering and product discussion.
Threads are where a lot of technical uncertainty actually gets talked through in real time: an engineer flags a bug that doesn't make sense, a teammate proposes a fix, someone else says it won't work and why. Claimship reads that back and forth.
Claimship also reads shared files and links posted in those channels, such as screenshots of a failing test or a link to a related pull request, to connect a Slack conversation to the work it describes.
The evidence it extracts
Debugging threads show the process of experimentation
A thread where an engineer tries one fix, reports it didn't work, and tries another is a direct record of iterative testing.
Design debates document the uncertainty
Channel discussions about which architecture or library to use capture the alternatives your team weighed before deciding.
Threads connect a conversation to a specific piece of work
Links to pull requests or issues posted in a thread tie the discussion to the commit or ticket it's about, strengthening the overall record.
Permissions
Read-only by design
Claimship can read your data. It cannot write, change, or delete anything in your tools. The one exception is the payroll credit push, which you approve first.
You choose the scope
Pick the repos, projects, and channels we can see. Skip anything sensitive. The study only uses what you share.
Revoke anytime
Disconnect a tool in one click from your dashboard or from the tool itself. Syncing stops immediately.
- Claimship reads only the channels you invite it to. It cannot read DMs, private channels you don't share, or channels outside the list you pick.
- Access is read-only. Claimship never posts messages, reacts, or joins channels on its own.
- Remove Claimship from a channel, or disconnect the whole workspace, anytime. Syncing stops immediately.
Setup
- 1Open the Integrations tab in your Claimship dashboard.
- 2Click Connect on Slack and authorize the Claimship app for your workspace.
- 3Invite the Claimship app to the specific engineering channels you want to share.
- 4Claimship begins reading messages in those channels within minutes.
